I have been an amateur radio operator since I was 15 years old. I got my Extra class license (it was AD4K) in 1979, and a Norwegian reciprocal license, LA0CY, in about 1980. When I got married in 1984, the apartment was part of the deal. It was phenomenally impractical for ham radio, and I also had 3 kids to raise. After my antenna blew off the roof, the ham gear ended in a closet. Now that the kids are grown, I have decided to get back into radio. In 2018, I tried about 3 times to renew the US license, but never got any feedback. Anyway, I have taken the test in Norway now.
