Aside from the clip itself, the mobile turret is insane against possessed marauders. Once he starts to attack, the falter triggered by the mobile turret is basically instantaneous and surprisingly safe. Also, unlike standard marauders, it lingers way longer.
If you manage to keep an appropriate distance he will continuously try to attack you, without parrying a single bullet (if he does, just go for another round when he starts to attack again).
On top of that, you're not using the ballista so you can kill the spirit easy peasy afterwards. Apparently it's also easier to pull off some feet-ballista with it, but I'm not satisfied with its consistency yet.
