Cap-Aurora is the smallest, but also the youngest resort on the Romanian seaside, arranged on a special promontory, predominantly rocky. Its story begins in the communist era, when on July 1, 1973 the 10 hotels named "Agat", "Coral", "Cristal", "Diamant", "Granat", "Onix", "Opal" , "Rubin", "Safir" and "Topaz", but also the 8 restaurants of the time were open to the public. The resort is located 1 kilometer from Jupiter and 1 kilometer from Venus and about 5 km from Mangalia. It is considered by tourists a quiet area where you can sunbath and swim in the sea, but especially can dive because the underwater landscape is very special. They will see the fine sandy, shallow, very rare habitats of high conservation value. Very important is also the fact that Cap-Aurora site includes, besides the marine area, maritime islands, sand banks, and, most spectacularly, numerous reefs built from shoals of mussles. These are the Biogenic Reefs of Mytilus galloprovincialis whose habitat is located offshore between 30 and 45 m deep.
