Niel Deepnarain, founder of Unite for Education, and Joshua Kellard, author of the Parents Pact join us today to discuss why they have organised a rally at Holyrood, Edinburgh on January 17th.
We look at the current political climate and the challenges facing home educators across the United Kingdom.
The Children's Wellbeing Bill is currently in the Westminster Parliament, and if passed will see new restrictions and checks being introduced for home educators in England. Furthermore, Joshua explains why the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, is something every parent needs to be aware of, and how it is shaping policy making in the UK and beyond.
We also discuss policy changes in Scotland that could see a Home Educators register created north of the border as well.
