Thematic Zone Play -
We have a really fun stylized design that works great in all spaces in on a small gaming table. We also see this as a great option for folks that play theater of the mind and hit the table for tactical encounters and interactive events. Since its compact, it’s also really good for gaming while traveling or setting up an adventure while RL camping.

We are calling our version of this terrain - TZP for Thematic Zone Play.

This first release includes a set of three themes. Tavern Occlo where the party can get a traditional rump roast meal, a refreshing pint of ale and pick up their quest. The Riftwood Wilderness journey to the dungeon where the party might witness a judgment being rendered out at the gates of the city. Dungeon An'Gar where the party will be slain or endure for a time. Each TZP theme comes with thematic accessories.

Zone Combat -
The idea behind the terrain is that the disc is divided up into 3 zones - Contact Zone, Range Zone and Outside Zone.

Contact Zone - At the center of TZP is a 6 inch area where the action is. This includes dialog, snooping, pick pocking, disarming or setting traps and melee combat.

Range Zone - This zone surrounds the contact and creatures in the range zone can see the action, cast spells, shoot arrows, huck hatchets, spears and chuck explosion potions into the center zone. They can not be hit by melee characters inside the contact zone nor can they hit with melee unless they move into the contact zone. Good spot for casters and archers.

Outside Zone - Any players or creatures in the outside zone can not see or hear the Contact Zone. They may be able to see the Range Zone if the game master allows it.

Credit -
We went to give credit were credit is due. The first time we seen this type of terrain was when Profession Dungeon Master showed it on his YouTube channel about 3 years ago. Since they he has refined the idea.

Refine & Innovative the Design -
One of the considerations we took was to make the TZP change the feel instantly by simply making the center exchangeable. When we did that we also realized once the center top was removed we could make the center base another playable surface. For the tavern its a cellar, for the wilderness its a rift and for the dungeon its a pit. The different center tops are part of the stretch goals that unlock backer count, learn more on that below.

The edge of each of the TZP are finished with the grassy style edge and can be painted to look like grim and dirt or even water. The disc is locked together using OpenLOCK clips and can be glued.

The overall size once snapped together is just under 17.5 inches.
