First ever attack on Indian subcontinent by the Islamic Armies was on Sindh in the year 710. Muhammad Bin Qasim was a Ummayid General who fought with Hindu Raja of Rai dynasty in Sindh (Modern Day Pakistan).
Chachnama chronicles written by Arabs also mentions this event.
Raja Dahir had also given shelter to descendants of Prophet Muhammad (founder of Islam)!
It was Muhammad Bin Qasim's 3rd expedition to India which was successful prior 2 attacks failed due due to strong resistance from Raja Dahir !
