A break in tradition for the 2020 Autumn excursion season, Reading & Northern 4-6-2 "Pacific" #425 has been brought on to pull two weekends of excursions through the Lehigh Gorge once again. Autumn is usually the time when the vibrant blue Pacific would be leading a series of long distance Autumn Leaf excursions from Reading, PA to Jim Thorpe, PA, but with various logistics and restrictions due to the Coronavirus pandemic, the railroad could not operate those popular trips this season. To suffice, the railroad fired the engine up for some off-peak running of 70 minute excursions, where the engine would have plenty of time to haul its 12 car passenger consist to Old Penn Haven within the gorge.
