📚 Hermit and the Mouse - Food Thief - A Panchatantra Tale from Ancient India

🎬 STORY SUMMARY:
Near an ancient city in India, there stood a beautiful temple of Lord Shiva. In this temple lived a kind hermit who spent his days caring for the temple and helping others. Every day, the hermit would collect alms from the village and share the extra food with the poor workers who cleaned and decorated the temple. He kept the food in a clay bowl near his bed. But a clever mouse had discovered the food bowl! Every night, it would sneak into the temple and steal the food. No matter how high the hermit hung the bowl, the mouse could always reach it with amazing jumps. One day, a wise beggar came to visit the temple. He noticed the hermit seemed distracted and unhappy. When he asked why, the hermit explained his problem with the troublesome mouse. The beggar smiled wisely. He said, A mouse that can jump so high must have a secret source of strength. It has surely stored a great hoard of food somewhere. Find it, and you will find the key to defeating the mouse. Following the beggar's advice, they found the mouse's burrow. Inside was a mountain of stolen food! They took away every grain. That night, the mouse tried to jump for the bowl, but without its secret hoard, it had lost all its strength and confidence. The weakened mouse could barely hop. It squeaked sadly and scurried away into the night, never to return. And so the hermit learned that to defeat any challenge, you must strike at the true source of its power.
