Pimpri Chinchwad, one of India’s fastest-growing cities, is rethinking how people move. With nearly one vehicle for every resident, congestion, pollution, and road safety are pressing challenges.

Instead of building more roads, the city is investing in walking, cycling, and public transport. Through projects like the Urban Streetscapes program and Harit Setu, Pimpri Chinchwad is creating safer footpaths, cycle tracks, and stronger links to public transport.
