Maloya Jazz Xperianz • 13th International Jazz Day

Описание к видео Maloya Jazz Xperianz • 13th International Jazz Day

In honour of the 13th International Jazz Day, Babani presents you an exclusive live performance video of Maloya Jazz Xperianz recorded at the TEAT St Gilles for the "Jazz En L'Air" festival.

Maloya Jazz Xperianz is a melting pot of influences, mirroring its initiator Emy Potonié, a composer, saxophonist-flutist, and performer. The group consists of Noé Latchimy on piano, Rodolphe Celeste on guitar, Christophe Chrétien on drums and for this performance specifically: Damien Mandrin on bass and Matthieu Morisse on percussions. While most of the compositions are initially created by Emy, each member brings their own musical colour, sensitivity, dynamism, and jazz to it! It's music that takes us on a journey through tradition and modernity while revealing the temperament of each individual through the notes.

Imagine the encounter between a volcano and an ocean, the opposition, confrontation, and collaboration of these two elements, and let yourself be tempted by this musical journey subtly blending all these origins! This is showcased in their self-titled E.P and their album "Mon Péï", the latter of which is a forthcoming release on Babani Records
