Darren Wilson (left) has been an avid Batman fan for more than two decades and wanted a suitable room where he could keep his precious haul of comics and Batman-related items. So, for the past 18 months, the 46-year-old has spent nearly every weekend and evening transforming his spare room at the family home Calne, Wiltshire (inset) - at the cost of just £100. With the help of his wife Catherine, 45, Mr Wilson has fitted wooden joists and mesh to hold paper mache 'stalactites' and covered the room in six shades of grey paint (top right). He also included white ripples to make the walls look like real stone and installed a mock pipe through the middle of the room (bottom right) to replicate Bruce Wayne's secret underground HQ.
