T3RRA Cutta provides 4 options to start designing Full Field land forming projects: Best-fit, Multi-fit, Smooth, & Offset
‘Best-fit’ creates a plane of best fit for the field or region. The best-fit calculation produces the slope and direction required to achieve a single plane, while minimizing the amount of dirt moved.
The Water Flow Simulator can be used to see how the water reacts on the original surface verses the design surface.
Check your earth work details to see the total cut & fill amounts required to achieve the design. In this case, the total cut volume is 404.5 cubic yards per acre which might be more than what you want to move.
You can use the calculated direction and slope percentage as a starting point for creating a Multi-fit design.
Choose Multi-fit design and enter the slope and direction produced in the Best-fit design. Remember to choose to use the original elevation surface.
Check your design in the Water Flow Simulator.
Look at your earth work details. If you choose this design, your total cut volume is 238.2 cubic yards per acre. In this case, Multi-fit provided a design that moved significantly less dirt than Best-fit. Further manipulation of parameters and/or dividing the surface into regions could possibly move even less!
