I finished straightened the twisted keys on this harmonium's keyboard so that it is finally reliable enough to play, and has been working really good now for 3 weeks. During this time, I took the opportunity to learn the tricks of using the Expression stop, where the reservoir is completely disengaged from the treadles. The result is extreme expression, but I found it difficult to do. I'm slowly starting to get the hang of it, but have plenty of learning to do yet.

The harmonium is a Debain, made in Paris circa 1853-57. This harmonium has a special and exciting history to it, which I will share once I get the facts completed. Hint: famous American organist Virgil Fox.

Fèlix Alexandre Guilmant (1837 - 1911) was the composer of this piece called Andante, from the Quantrième Sonate (D minor) Op. 61
