It's spring on the farm. The sun is shining bright and tiny new flowers are peeping out. Trees are growing new fresh leaves and spring is on its way. But Mama Chick needs cheering up. She finds an old blue hat. In the dusty old barnyard, but that hat is not so pretty. The hat is dirty and torn. I need a little touch of spring to brighten up my hat.
Mama Chick says, To brighten up your hat? The tiny baby chicks ask. So the baby chicks now search for a thing. That could brighten up Mama Chick's spring. One baby picks up twigs. Other chicks shake their heads. Then one baby thinks of butterflies. But it would not sit still on the hat. So the baby chicks shake their heads.
Then the tiniest chick looked over the field next to the farm. Look! Look! There are pretty pink flowers on the farm. They all flapped their wings and off they went. The field is full of pretty pink flowers. And they pluck flowers and then decorate their mama's hat. All the chicks are so happy to see the hat.
And they take the hat to Mama. Mama chick loves her pretty new springtime hat. And she loves her little chicks for cheering her up. She hugs and kisses her tiny little chicks.
