How to pot up water lilies for your koi pond.

I have spent years trying to figure out the best way to keep the Koi out of the lily pots and I think I finally figured it out. Koi are very curious and like to investigate anything new. Many koi keepers really want water gardens and find it difficult to have koi and plants co-exist. It also helps to feed your fish small amounts of food frequently and a wide variety of other foods. Once you give them things like Romain and other types of lettuce as well as watermelon, oranges and other soft fruits. They’re far less likely to eat your pond plants when we’ll fed and may decide that they like those other offerings far better than water lilies and other pond plants. My koi pretty much only damage my water lilies when spawning since I started potting them like this and letting them get established for a few weeks before adding them in with the Koi.
