The fourth day of our Victorian Autumn Russian Sidecar (VARSTy) experience. The day commenced in clear sunny conditions for our varied ride the hills and dales around Healesville, Victoria. The day was quite varied, beginning with a great twisting piece off dirt ascending some 500m through Pentons gap, to morning coffee at Yarra Junction. Then on to the Gold mining are where the rivers were diverted by digging tunnels through the rock by hand so the river bed could be mined. Beyond that, we visited a local redwood forest and returned to Warburton for lunch by the river. With lunch over, we proceeded to the Warburton Rainforest Gallery, some 2/3rd of the way up Mount Donna Buang. This was a mostly tarmac run ending on top of the mount at 1246 metres in elevation. This is our closest ski field. Primarily used by cross country skiers. Leaving the mount, we descended on a lovely winding dirt track through the ferns and rain forest returning home to a well deserved shower and 5.00PM drinkies, with great company. As has been the practice each evening.
