Dr Stephen Kinsella, Kemmy Business School speaking at The Irish Times Innovation Cities Roadshow event, 'The Entrepreneurial Enterprise' hosted by the University of LImerick. The event was opened by The Irish Times Business Journalist, Pamela Newenham and featured entrepreneurs, researchers and academics including: Dr Stephen Kinsella, Kemmy Business School, Colm Tracey, Founder of Eishtec, Jeff Skinner, Director at the Institute of Innovation and Entrepreneurship, London Business School and Kieran Curran, Founder of Limerick-based company GenCell Biosystems.

Launching a new enterprise, whether it's a tech start-up, a small business or an initiative within a large corporation, has traditionally been a high-risk proposition. The normal approach is to write a business plan, pitch it to investors, assemble a team, develop a product and start selling as hard as you can. Somewhere in this process you'll more than likely suffer a fatal setback.

Paul Dillon, Director, Technology Transfer Office, University of Limerick and event organiser explains; "Three out of every four start-ups fail but methodologies are emerging and taking root which improve the chance of success. These involve concepts such as minimum viable product, lean approaches, iterative design and pivoting. This event with explore these emerging approaches and show some examples from leading practitioners."

The Irish Times Innovation Roadshow event was supported by the Kemmy Business School, UL Technology Transfer Office and Nexus Innovation Centre.
