Sister Wives is an American reality TV show that has aired on TLC since 2010. This show follows the life of American Mormon Kody Brown's family, his four wives and their 17 children. The family lived in Lehi, Utah, when filming began on the series, and then moved to the Las Vegas Valley, Nevada. The first 7-episode season ran from September 26 to October 17, 2010 and was highly acclaimed by the Nielsen ratings. The second season began on September 25, 2011, the third on May 13, 2012, and the fourth on November 18, 2012.

Brown and his wives say they are on the show to raise awareness of polygamous families and to fight prejudice and prejudice against polygamy. Brown believes that his polygamous union is quite legal, since he legally married only one woman, and other marriages are "spiritual unions". However, his participation in the show resulted in him and his family being investigated for possible prosecution.
