Dedicated to brother Danny Kahn. In another life, he might have been a cantor. Danny Kahn was one of the most unique and interesting individuals I ever knew. I met him in a hippie commune in Little Five Points called Life Force. We both lived there and he ran the garden and a moving service called Mark The Mover. Mark was his first partner but he quit very quickly. I signed on as helper. Danny was from the uber wealthy town of Great Neck on Long Island. His dad was the biggest furrier in NYC, or so he said. He was not interested in the family business so he became a wandering wastrel, except that he was capable and enterprising. He was also the best singer-songwriter I ever saw and I saw some of the biggies in the 70's. His finger picking style was immaculate and exquisite. He would play gigs at the Little Five Points Pub on weeknights where adoring MILFS would sip wine and lap it up. He was brutally murdered in 2008, probably by some day laborer he picked up to help him move some stuff. RIP my friend. I'm sure that guy got what was coming to him eventually. Each tune is better than the last. I believe they are all his but I'm not sure.
