When WWE relaunched the ECW brand (originally named Extreme Championship Wrestling), Sabu was the main star they signed to lead the promotion.

Former Champion and "Greatest of All Time" John Cena wrestled Sabu on several occasions, including their big Extreme Rules Lumberjack Match from WWE Vengeance 2006.

To introduce the feud, Sabu pitched the idea to Vince McMahon about putting John Cena through a table via suicide leg drop.

While Vince and Sabu were at ringside rehearsing the spot, Sabu made a joke that accidentally offended Vince McMahon.
