Disposable cups used in anti-waste social experiment have been repurposed

The authorities have defended a controversial anti-waste social experiment. A coffee booth doubling as an installation at Paya Lebar Quarter had given out free beverages in disposable paper and plastic cups. The idea was to raise awareness about the amount of waste that can be generated in a short period of time. Senior Minister of State for Sustainability and the Environment Amy Khor said the project was generally well-received. She assured that the used cups have been repurposed. MP Yip Hon Weng asked if digital displays or technology could be used to bring such ideas across in future.
