What has happened and could happen - a foreign man goes to retire in the Philippines. he meets a young Filipina. He falls in love with her beauty and charm, and a relationship begins. Not all filipinas are like this but if not careful, you could end up with the wrong girl. One that puts money as the main priority instead of love, and this is where the problems begins.

For instance, is it that all Filipinos are gold diggers, or do we overlook certain things as foreigners when dating in the Philippines.

Few, not many Filipinos are bad or gold diggers. Many Filipinos are looking for a committed nonfinancial-focused relationship. Unfortunately, low wages are common in the Philippines, money can be the focal point in the eyes of a few Filipinas. Some would say If a foreign man \dates women 30 or 40 years younger than him or goes to the late-night bars to find his dates, he is sure to meet the wrong kind of woman.

Many things are different in the Philippines, especially money. Giving money to her family is common, Not all filipinas wish the foreigner to send money to her family. It's like a signal to the family that money is soon to come.

If a Filipina is only after your money, you can spot this using several early warning signs.
For instance: Asking about money, asking to borrow money, mentioning bad situations, asking you without actually asking but referring to the need or to buy gifts for her or her family.

Pay attention to the logic rather than her beauty. Some like in America know how to use their beauty to their advantage.

Keep money separate that nobody knows about apart from you and only you. Create a small budget and stick to it.

What's important to note is that these essential tips here can be used when dating anywhere in the world.
