Indian Train Horror Story – About Story:
[ Pawan worked in a distant city and had not visited his family for months. Missing his wife and children, he finally decided to go home. He managed to get a last-minute waiting ticket. After a long, tiring day on the train, he somehow found a seat and later climbed to an upper berth, where he fell into a deep sleep.
Around midnight, Pawan suddenly woke up.
The train had slowed down a lot.
Half-asleep, he assumed his station had arrived. Without asking anyone or checking, he grabbed his bags and stepped off the moving train.
The moment he got down, he realized the place was pitch dark. His phone was dead. There were no lights… no houses… nothing. Just silence and cold wind.
Still, he began walking along the tracks in the direction of his village.
20 minutes…
30 minutes…
1 hour…
But no sign of any settlement.
Then he noticed a massive dark structure ahead—
an old railway tunnel.
The tunnel was filled with absolute darkness. He thought of climbing the hill above it, but he was too exhausted. Finally, he decided to go through the tunnel itself.
As he stopped near the entrance to relieve himself, he heard whispers echoing from inside.
Terrified yet desperate, he stepped into the tunnel.
Suddenly he saw it—
a small fire burning inside, and beside it sat a man dressed in white clothes.
But strangely, Pawan couldn’t see his face. The firelight was bright, yet the man’s features were completely hidden, like a glowing blur.
Cold and tired, Pawan sat near the fire. Warmth spread through him—warmth that felt almost… sacred, comforting, unreal. Slowly, sleep pulled him in.
He dreamed of the same man riding a white horse through the tunnel.
The sound of hooves woke him.
The fire was still burning, but the man had vanished.
Beside his bag lay some ancient-looking food—not modern, but from an older era. Hungry, he ate it without question. It tasted unbelievably good.
Then he sensed someone behind him.
He turned—
the same faceless man stood there.
In a calm, beautiful voice, he said:
“Your stomach is full. Now walk in that direction.
You will reach your village.
But don’t look back.”
Pawan nodded, picked up his bags, and walked away.
But as he moved farther, the warmth faded and the cold returned sharply.
The tunnel felt darker… heavier.
A strange urge rose inside him—
“Just once… look back…”
He turned.
The tunnel behind him was completely dark.
No fire.
No man.
No sign anything had ever been there.
Fear shot through him. His legs gave way, and he collapsed beside the tracks.
Morning sunlight woke him.
He was lying safe near the tunnel entrance, his bags untouched.
When he looked back at the tunnel, a chill ran through him—
Whoever helped him that night…
was not human.
Perhaps a soul from the British era, one that had died in that same tunnel long ago…
And maybe, just maybe—
it had saved him.
