Описание к видео My BIGGEST Shock Since Moving to Japan (Traditional Kotatsu Dining Experience)

Are you ready for the ULTIMATE Japanese dining experience (and an *emotional reaction*)?? After moving to Japan and living here with my Japanese husband, it’s been a while since I’ve experienced any kind of culture shock, but in today’s travel vlog, I might just have my biggest shock since moving here!

Ever dreamed of visiting Japan and soaking in the culture while drinking green tea or eating traditional Japanese food under a “kotatsu” (heated floor table)? We might have just found the perfect place for you! We’re driving from Kyushu to Honshu to eat at an unusual restaurant in Iwakuni in Yamaguchi Prefecture transported us back to the times of samurai and mountain bandits and it absolutely blew our minds! Watch to see our full “first time” reaction and see the description below for more details on the locations shown in today’s Japan travel vlog.

▶︎ Places we visited around Iwakuni (岩国市) in Yamaguchi Prefecture:

🍗Irori Sanzoku Kuga / いろり山賊 玖珂店(https://www.irori-sanzoku.co.jp/)
“Sanzoku” (山賊) means “mountain bandit” and at Irori Sanzoku, you can experience just what it felt like to be a mountain pirate hidden deep in the Japanese mountains with their rustic menu and incredible attention to architectural detail that is everything you might imagine when you think of traditional Japan. Irori Sanzoku (AKA “The Chicken Shack”) helps visitors step back in time to the age of ninjas and samurai by watching chickens grill in front of them on the “irori” (Japanese hearth) and by warming up under a kotatsu (heated floor table) in an almost theme park-like atmosphere. This unusual restaurant where “every day is a festival” has been featured on TV and is incredibly popular with locals, Americans taking a break from the nearby Kuga Base, and those driving on the National Highway Route 2 from Yamaguchi to Hiroshima. It is famous for its larger-than-life onigiri rice balls and teriyaki BBQ chicken, but we tried out more to give you a full food review! Watch the full video to see our mountain bandit menu recommendations!

🌉Kintai Bridge / 錦帯橋 (https://kintaikyo.iwakuni-city.net/)
Kintai Bridge, which is best known for its beautiful arches and complex architecture, is one of Japan’s 3 most famous bridges. Many tourists combine a trip to Kintai Bridge and Iwakuni with a day trip to Hiroshima. Make sure not to miss this beautiful piece of Japanese heritage from your Japan travel itinerary!

🏯Looking for more things to do around Iwakuni?
Why not take a cable car to the top of Mt. Shiroyama for panoramic views of the old Samurai town and visit Iwakuni castle?
