Описание к видео A Common Security And Economic Perimeter For North America

Highlights from an March 11, 2010 interview of Canadian diplomat Allan Gotlieb at Berkeley (Interviewed By: Harry Kreisler.)

By: NAUresistance

Harry Kreisler draws from his ideas of globalism and tries to tie it in with Allan Gotlieb's perception of the current state of Canada-U.S. relations and where this is all going. Gotlieb tries to paint a picture that all the efforts of deep integration and harmonization that took place during the SPP days, didn't accomplish much and suggests that the events of 9/11 got in their way or, slowed down the process; by creating an new awareness of the borders between Canada and the United States. He stops short of saying the North American Union agenda is dead, but Gotlieb tries his best to downplay the accomplishments and past efforts of the Security and Prosperity Partnership and trilateral initiatives (governmental) between the three countries, but anyone that continued following this agenda after the premature celebration parties held in honor of the supposed death of the SPP, would know the SPP did not die, but rather accomplished their stated mission.

Gotlieb states in the interview that he would like to see Canada, the United States and Mexico share a common economic and security perimeter. Meaning, no internal borders between Canada, United States and Mexico; but rather, a common security perimeter around the continent as a whole! This would be North American Union by definition. He blames U.S. Homeland Security for getting in the way of the great progress they were making, stating the organization is too nationalistic, too focused on the security of America rather then an strategic partnership or vision of North America and that this should change.

What Gotlieb and his well suited interviewer are trying to mask up or failing to mention, is the fact that the SPP accomplished almost everything it set out to do and 9/11 only helped in advancing their security agenda forward and was the main reason they claim in SPP documents for the regulatory harmonization of our border services and infrastructure! Read any SPP white paper dealing with 'security' and you will quickly see 9/11 played a key role in how they developed this framework for deep integration and harmonization- it was key! It did not prove to be an inhibitor of their overall agenda but rather an accelerant.

One only has to take a look at the CFR/CCCE/SPP document titled "Building An North American Community" to see what their stated goals were, and then compare that past and very recent acts by government, to understand that they did not fail miserably, but rather, accomplished almost everything they set out to do!

Gotlieb states there is no vision for North America coming out of Washington or Ottawa at the moment, but forgets the recent visit of President Calderon to our Parliament where both the Prime Minister of Canada and the President called for the Consolidation of North America, Deeper Integration and announced that Canada and Mexico are as one, he forgets to mention the recent summit in Mexico between Obama, Harper and Calderon, he forgets that WHTI set out to accomplish the ID requirements set out in the SPP documents, he forgets to mention that Harper just announced funding for a major project underway in Winnipeg called CentrePort Canada which will serve as Canada's extension of the NAFTA Superhighway the government so feverishly denied was in planning only a few years earlier.

Sorry Mr. Gotlieb, I wish your pessimism on the current status of North American Union was a reality, but I have a feeling even you don't believe it.. that is unless, you stopped doing your homework...
