Let's Design Northern Valley Ep.8 - Building the National Park and Campground - Cities Skylines

Northern Valley is starting to get an identity. We're working on one of the main attractions of the area: the Northern Valley National Park system. This nature preserve features a central lodge, multiple recreation areas, and a campground.

Located at the far end of the map, next to the dam, the NVNP features a vast forested area and engulfs the Cascata River's Twin Falls. An observation area sits atop the twin waterfalls and offers a spectacular view of the rest of the region. Further into the park you'll find the main lodge. This building was made possible by use of the RICO mod.

Wooden lookout towers are scattered throughout the park that overlook the trees. These will be used by our park rangers to monitor potential fires.

Near the back of the map you'll find the park's campgrounds. This area is such an interesting place on the map. I used a custom district theme in order to get the residential zones to spawn trailer homes. These trailers give the campground a look like it's being used for it's intended purpose. We've placed tents down around the area along with other props to give the grounds a "living" feel. Even from a distance, it looks like our cims are camping!
