I’ve always been fascinated by the slightly wild classic acoustic guitar sound from live sessions by Neil Young, Bill Withers, Joni Mitchell and others.
A lot of what I’ve seen in these recordings goes against everything I’ve been taught about sound engineering though - but you can’t argue with the results.

It’s a world of weird goose-neck mics, strange positioning, a bit of a wild west. But what can we learn here?

In this video I attempt to recreate some of these classic sounds in the name of fun. I hope you enjoy it!
