Simple Camp Fire Recipe | Dutch Oven over a Camp Fire cooking

Hey there, friends! Today the Instructors of DR woodland wellbeing are cooking up a hearty and delicious Bacon and Cabbage Goulash in my Dutch oven over an open fire. This dish is perfect for a chilly autumn day or a cozy camping weekend.

Here's what you'll need:
bacon, diced
onion, chopped
garlic paste
head of cabbage, shredded / chopped
chicken stock
Salt pepper and thyme to taste
Hot buttered bread or crusty bread, for serving
Instructions:
Heat the Dutch oven over medium heat. Add the bacon and cook until crispy and browned, about 5 minutes. Drain the excess grease.
Add the onion, garlic, and cabbage to the Dutch oven. Cook over medium heat until the vegetables are softened and slightly browned, about 5 minutes.
Stir in the chicken broth, Thyme, salt, and pepper.
Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce heat to low and simmer for 20 minutes, or until the cabbage is tender.
Serve hot with buttered bread or crusty bread.
