Cycling/Bikepacking The John Muir Way / John Muir Trail - which runs from Helensburgh to Dunbar - West Coast to the east Coast.

Using the trains to get to the start point in Helensburgh- starting heading east through Loch Lomond - The Trossachs - Ballock & the Kilpatrick Hills - a fabulous route - there are alternatives for cycling or trekking .. if you are cycling you can take the walkers trail, but be mindful it can get a little sticky in places certainly across the kilpatrick Hills, don’t run with anything less than 700x38mm if you plan to cycle some of the walkers trail ..I was running exactly that and they ran out fine in what was dry conditions.. 🤔 think in Tubeless it’ll help to save you on any pinch flats or thorns… I pulled a couple out when I returned home which ultimately had no effect as I was running tubless &thus self sealed.

Great things to see a.ong this route from the impressive Falkirk Wheel - Queensferry - Forth Bridge - Avon Viaduct … and more a fine run on what is a vast majority of biker/cyclist routes - Lanes -Tracks - Off Road - Tow Paths …

I rolled on down the coast to Berwick on Tweed .. so in essence Scotland West to East and back to Blighty - as the Tweed seperates Scotland from England.

A great route to enjoy for sure 👌 - Safe cycling out there -
