Session Description: Dr. Marv Wilson describes why the Prophets are important to study. The prophets of Israel focused on social justice warning against oppression of the poor. He displays some tabloids he found at Shaw’s grocery store that feature futuristic speculative predictions of the end of the world, Armageddon and Christ’s return. Futuristic prediction is a small portion of the Hebrew prophets. The prophets are more focused on social reform in their own day. The prophets were the spokespersons for God giving both rebuke and correction as well as presenting a message of hope.
