Gran Turismo 2 Plus Mod by Pez2k | Gameplay #3

Описание к видео Gran Turismo 2 Plus Mod by Pez2k | Gameplay #3

It's been over a year since the last one, but here's another gameplay video of Pez2k's Gran Turismo 2 Plus mod. A mod of Gran Turismo 2 that fixes issues with the game plus adding new content.

Sorry for the long wait, but there wasn't much else until recently that was significant enough to warrant a video. The first 2 parts originally covered everything until recently.

Link to a thread on GTPlanet that explains the mod in detail along with a continued discussion about the changes: https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/thread...

Q&A Section:
Q: How can I get this mod?
A: There's a patch located in the thread I left a link for above. You just need to patch it on a GT2 iso to play it.

Q: How do you apply the patch?
A: First, download xDelta (software that can patch files to ps1 isos). Second, just select the patch you downloaded in one section and pick the GT2 iso you want to patch. Finally, pick a location to save it at and give it a name. Now, you have a new modded game to play with. Have fun! :)

Q: Will the creator be able to apply scrapped cars like the Mercedes-Benz CLK-GTR?
A: He can add cars that were hidden in the playable demos in the future, but cars like the CLK-GTR are impossible since that was featured on a build of GT2 that wasn't released to the public. Even then, it's possible that the car could never be added in the first place due to the file type possibly being different from the final GT2's.

Q: What about content from GT1 like Special Stage Route 11?
A: Once again, GT1's file types are different from GT2's to where porting content from there is impossible. So, no SSR11.

Q: Can new car and track models be added at all?
A: Yes, but only on certain condiations:
1: If they're from another build of GT2 like one of the regional versions or one of the playable demos. MMRivit (another GT2 modder) has ported tracks from the demos into the final game for instance, and he taught me how to do the same thing. Car models can be added this way as I added cars like the 1996 Viper GTS and beta Shelby Cobra Daytona from the demos. However, adding new cars and tracks from other games like NFS:II or Test Drive 6 is at the moment impossible.

2. It's possible to actually edit existing car models to a certain degree in order to create new variations or do things like swap engines and drivetrains. However, I don't know how that exactly works as I'm not a model maker. I know someone by the name of Submaniac that has done certain things like that before.

Q: Can this work on things outside of PC emulators?
A: Pez2k fixed the bug causing crashes, so the mod should be fine on any platform. The mod has already been confirmed by Superfrizzio to work on PSP & PS1.

Q: Can cheat codes work on the mod?
A: Yes, at least some can such as the spawn cars in Toyota dealer cheat I shown in this video. I also have used the track loader cheat for custom races.

Q: What versions of GT2 does this work on?
Every regional build of GT2 can use this mod. It used to be exclusive to the PAL release (because it was more complete than others), but Pez2k's latest build accommodates all versions.

Q: When patching the game, how do I know what version of GT2 I have?
A: Well, there are multiple key differences between all versions of GT2 listed on the cutting room floor. https://tcrf.net/Gran_Turismo_2/Revis...
However, if you want my answer; you need to look out for typos on the menus, graphical errors like the wrong license requirements listed for a race, maybe your version has logos on cars that don't appear on other releases. Just look at all the little details like that.

Note: I recommend getting this version of xDelta due to being more straightforward to use. I tried xDelta3, but it confused me. Link: https://www.romhacking.net/utilities/...
