Sky News host Chris Kenny has hit out at the ABC after the network was forced to delete doctored audio from a news report it claimed depicted Australian soldiers firing on unarmed civilians.

The network has launched an investigation into how the mistake occurred a Channel 7 investigation by current affairs program Spotlight.

The inclusion of the doctored audio made it appear as if Australian Defence Force personnel had fired six shots instead of just one.

“Look this so-called reporting appears to be an absolute disgrace where once more the ABC is keen to attack our military and besmirch our country rather than just tell the facts,” Mr Kenny said.

“Heston Russell and Channel 7 showed how other evidence in these reports was either ignored or exaggerated to fit the ABC narrative.”
