The Ghost Effect is a project born in Turin (Italy) in autumn 2005 from the intuition of the three founder members (Laura Agerli, Davide Dellaquila, Claudio Vernetti), with rather different musical personalities but joined by a genuine passion for the new wave aesthetics, the dark atmospheres and the visionary art in all its forms. The expression "ghost effect" is taken from the classical photographic terminology and is used to define the particular effect that occurs after a double exposure of the film. Practically speaking, the final frame is enriched by a ghost presence, that is the track of what has got into the field of vision in a moment preceding the click. In the XIX century the ghost effect was often used to demonstrate the existence of ghosts, in shape of the spiritual entities that appeared beside the photographed subject. Beyond the disquisition about the existence or not of ghosts (that of course is solved in favour of the first hypothesis to the band!) the point is that the film keeps in itself different and out of phase temporal fragments. And so does TGE music, in an original embodiment of past and present, electronic and traditional instruments, recallings and prophecies.
