In this video, we explore a deeply human and deeply biblical question: What actually gives us safety and security before God? Drawing from Exodus 12:21–28 and a lived experience from my time in Israel, this episode examines the Passover as a story about trust, surrender, and the cost of grace.

In Part 1, we walk through three themes from the Passover story:

1. The cost of safety: Why salvation comes at a cost, even when it is freely given.
2. The requirement for safety: How faith, not performance, is the means by which God’s grace is received.
3. The limits of false saviors: How idolatry exposes our tendency to look to finite things for ultimate security.

Along the way, we reflect on the meaning of the Passover lamb, the significance of the blood and hyssop, and how God’s judgment often reveals the failure of our idols rather than the absence of His grace. Drawing on Scripture and insights from thinkers like Timothy Keller and A.W. Tozer, this episode invites us to consider what it truly means to surrender to God.
