Harris Zhao, an R&D engineer turned social impact executive, shares his meaningful life story as a queer son of Chinese immigrants. He's currently serving as President for National Association of Asian American Professionals (NAAAP) Boston and Chief Strategy Officer for Get Konnected.

He discusses his journey from growing up in poverty to pursuing a financially stable career in pharmaceutical sciences. The pandemic and the loss of his grandmother prompted him to become more aware of his own work and identity, leading him to take on leadership roles in the National Association of Asian American Professionals and LGBTQ+ communities.

Harris emphasizes the importance of representation, demanding respect, and creating opportunities for underrepresented groups. He also highlights the challenges of the opportunity gap and the need for safe spaces and support for LGBTQ+ youth.
