Firdausi Yahaya, popularly known by her stage name Zainab Labarina, is a fast-rising actress in the Kannywood film industry. She gained widespread recognition for her role in the hit TV series Labarina, where she played the character of Zainab.
Originally from Niger Republic, Firdausi and her family reside in Sokoto State, Nigeria. Over the years, she has built a solid reputation as one of the promising new faces in the Hausa film industry, captivating audiences with her exceptional acting skills.
Firdausi Yahaya was born in Sokoto, Nigeria, in the 1990s. She is of Fulani descent and practices Islam. She completed her primary and secondary education in Sokoto before venturing into the entertainment industry.
Her love for acting started at a young age, and she was determined to join Kannywood. Through a relative, she was introduced to the renowned filmmaker Aminu Saira, who later became her mentor in the industry.
Firdausi Yahaya made her debut in Labarina, a highly popular Arewa TV series. Her impressive portrayal of Zainab, a key character in the show, made her an instant sensation among Kannywood fans.
Apart from Labarina, Firdausi has also appeared in several yet-to-be-released movies, proving her versatility as an actress. One of her notable works is the 2024 film "Allura Cikin Ruwa", which gained significant attention.
Yakubu Mohammed (alias: Yakubu Usman Shehu Abubakar El-Nafati (born 25 March 1973) is a Nigerian actor, producer, director, singer and script writer. He is a Globacom ambassador,SDGs ambassador and at a time, an ambassador for Nescafe Beverage.[citation needed] He has sung over 1000 songs, featured in over 100 Hausa films and more than 40 English films some of which includes; Lionheart, 4th Republic, Sons of the Caliphate and MTV Shuga which earned him City People Entertainment Awards and Nigeria Entertainment Awards.
Yakubu Mohammed started off in Kannywood as at 1998 writing scripts and working behind the scene. Along the line, he got trained on the job whilst rising through the ranks and files and in no time found himself calling the shots. Yakubu as a music artist has recorded over 1000 songs for film music and albums in Hausa and English. After working from the background for so long he got his first movie gig in Gabar Cikin Gida in 2013 [8] where he got featured alongside his friend and partner Sani Musa Danja. He made a cross over to Nollywood in 2016 with a debut in Sons of the Caliphate together with his colleague Rahama Sadau and also got featured in MTV's Shuga and Lionheart.
