Elden Ring is an Action Role-Playing Game(RPG or ARPG) presented by Fromsoftware and Bandai Namco Entertainment where a new world is created by Hidetaka Miyazaki, and George R. Martin, which are the creators of the Dark Souls series and Game of Throne respectively.
Platforms and Release: The game was released on PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One, and PC via Steam
Note: If you purchase it in PS4, you can upgrade to PS5 for free. And for Xbox consoles, the game supports the Smart Delivery system.
Combat: The game have a greater variety of weapons, Magic, and enemy attack than any of the Souls games. We will still have the challenging combat and boss fights from the Souls Series. Also, there will be horseback combat.
The world: The world is larger than in Dark Souls, but we do not have populated towns with NPCs. It is an open world with some constrains, such as layered castles, so you can go in different direction without following a linear pattern. There is freedom of choice. Due to your current tragic state, you, as the tarnished one, are in a quest to find the Elden Ring. During this quest, you will encounter difficult terrain condition and dark forces. Regardless of all odds against you, you will persist and put back together the “Golden Order”.
Summons and Sites of Grace: Summoning and Sites of Grace are available. Sites of Grace are similar to bonfires.
Characters: There are interesting characters such as a giant rocky turtle, an enemy with many arms, a werewolf, the red hair woman, a boss with push pull abilities, a boss with a character looking like Smough. a spiritual beast, as a Queen and servant with great shield and sword, a King that went mad, a spider made of giant fingers, a giant stone head, an interesting giant that grasp you with his flaming hand, a winged knight that looks like a silver knight, a giant like Yhorm, and finally your main enemy again with a dragon head attached to one of his arms.
Dragons: Like in the souls’ series. There will are dragons.
Conclusion: In summary, the game has some elements of the Dark Souls series and berserk. It has really interesting characters such giants, werewolf, monsters made of joint body parts, spirit beast and dragons. The combat is fluent with new elements such as mount battles, and improve magic, movement set, weapons and abilities when compared to the Dark Souls series. The world looks vast and free to roam around. There are plenty of different areas such as castles, forest and mountains to explore and immerse yourself.
