It's what the brand calls an "Ultra Hybrid", but in reality it's a Range Extender Electric Vehicle, or REEV (also called, sometimes, an Extended Range EV, or EREV).

The idea is similar to that of the Nissan X-Trail - the petrol engine is only there to act as a generator. But unlike an X-Trail, this SUV allows you to plug in and drive fully electric first and foremost, if that's what you want to do.

The range numbers are impressive, and so is the price.
