Boris woke up in the middle of the night to a swarm of buzzing bees. They flew into the light and swarmed around the light bulb on our porch. I got stung by a wasp or a bee a few days ago, so he figured out a way to get rid of them. He turned off the light, but the bees found their way to our solar light. That is one of the beauties of living in nature. The next day we went to our local hospital in Hinatuan. I have a lump behind my ear that I think is a cyst. It started to hurt after I was stung by a wasp. This is the first time we have come to our local hospital. We were impressed. It's clean and the people are friendly. Our friend Rhea helped us contact the surgeon at the hospital. The first thing the nurse did was to take my blood pressure and weight. Everything is normal. After a while we met the surgeon. He took a look at the lump behind my ear and said it wasn't dangerous and didn't need surgery. He prescribed some antibiotics and painkillers. I was so relieved to find out that there's nothing wrong with me. We bought the prescribed medicine at the pharmacy in front of the hospital. Before going home, we went to our lawyer's office to sign some of the necessary papers. Being here feels like déjà vu when we bought our first land. It was such a surreal moment. We have been living in this province for almost two months now and we love it here. On our way home, we passed a stall selling fruits and vegetables. The dragon fruit is our favorite here. We bought several kilos of dragon fruit, some vegetables and bananas.
In our barangay of Dugmanon, there are local carenderias where you can eat delicious food at cheap prices. We personally love this one carenderia, their food is delicious. Today is a weekday so there are a lot of students eating here. In the Philippines, elementary and high school students have classes all day from 8am to 4pm. Seeing these kids brings back memories of when I was a student.
