I posted a video on YouTube about the link between aluminum exposure and diseases such as dementia and cancer. The evidence is extremely strong that aluminum is a toxin and and can be absorbed by using aluminum cookware or consuming foods or liquids that contain aluminum. Skin exposure of aluminum through deodorants and other cosmetics is another risk.
The aluminum industry is continuing to say that they believe the levels absorbed through these means are small and we should not worry about it. Many scientists and researchers however have establish a link between aluminum exposure and Alzheimer’s disease as well as breast cancer. The debate about Alzheimer’s disease was going back-and-forth. For a while it seemed that most researchers dismissed the connection. However, a recent study of brain samples in people that died with familial or sporadic Alzheimer’s disease as well as other neurodegenerative diseases showed that their brain tissue contained a significantly higher amount of aluminum than the brains of people that died of other causes.
While the science is not settled yet, I think it is best to avoid exposure to aluminum. This can be done by eliminating aluminum containing cookware, deodorants that contain aluminum as well as certain make-up and other cosmetics containing this metal.
