Israeli forces intercepted several vessels belonging to the Freedom Flotilla Coalition (FFC) as they attempted to reach Gaza on Wednesday, Oct. 8.

The FFC, a network of pro-Palestinian activists, reported that its ships were “under attack” by the Israeli military, sharing footage showing soldiers boarding one boat, the “Conscience,” and smashing a security camera aboard another, the “Gaza Sunbird.”

The group said the flotilla’s goal was to deliver humanitarian aid and challenge Israel’s blockade of the territory.

According to Israel’s foreign ministry, the vessels and their passengers were safely transferred to an Israeli port and would be deported.

This was the second interception within days, following Israel’s detention of about 450 activists from a separate flotilla known as the Global Sumud, which was also attempting to deliver supplies to Gaza.
