Описание к видео Multidisciplinary Team Develop an Artificial Kidney

Promoting Successful Translational Research: http://launchpad.ucsf.edu. Dr. Shuvo Roy, an engineer by training, is applying highly efficient semiconductor-based processing techniques to develop the foundation for a fully functional artificial kidney. To ensure the success of the program, he works with a multidisciplinary team of bioengineers, nephrologists, material scientists and others at UC San Francisco and across the nation. Dr. Roy and his collaborators have translated their innovation from a concept to a clinically viable product that will be ready for human trials within the next few years.

LaunchPad is an online resource designed to highlight the experiences and accomplishments of translational researchers at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), and to support them in their efforts to develop beneficial medical products. LaunchPad features videos of investigators, administrators and industry experts sharing their experiences working through five keys to successful translational research—unmet needs, target product profile, collaboration, development plan and organizational support, as well as other resources for researchers. LaunchPad is a project of the Early Translational Research (ETR) program of UCSF's Clinical and Translational Science Institute (CTSI) - grant Number UL1 TR000004.
