Abrams is not an easy tank to destroy, the ammunition is located in the rear turret bustle and is protected with blowout panels and blast doors.
This ensures that if the ammunition is hit, the fire will exit through the roof rather then spreading inside of the turret compartment.
There is even a small extra ammo storage in the hull behind the commander, but it is also protected in the same way, just that the fire would go through the bottom in the case that it is hit.
Now how do you actually destroy the Abrams? Well most of the time you don't, you just need to make sure you achieve penetration and kill or injure the crew. But it also depends from the tank if you will be able to penetrate it or not, specifically, it depends if the tank is equipped with TUSK II package.
