Bengal News: ECI Extends SIR Deadline In Poll-Bound West Bengal By Two Weeks

The Election Commission of India (ECI) has extended the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) deadline in poll-bound West Bengal by two weeks. The voter roll revision will now continue until February 21, with the final electoral rolls scheduled to be published on February 28.

This decision comes in compliance with the Supreme Court’s February 9 order, ensuring adequate time for proper revision and scrutiny of voter lists. The extension aims to ensure a fair and transparent electoral process ahead of the upcoming West Bengal assembly elections.
