Despite her design origins in the United States, and early life in Sydney, the South Pacific II has in many ways become the definitive Moreton Bay classic. With a deep charter history, numerous fishing records and an omnipresent silhouette, she is forever connected with the Bay and her legendary former skipper, Ron Jenyns.

Fittingly, the boat played a central role in the establishment of what has become one of the great boating occasions, the annual "Moreton Bay Classic" -- www.moretonbayclassic.com .

This Episode explores the establishment of this marvellous event by SP2's new skipper, Jacob Oxlade -- an occasion that recognises Ron Jenyns -- going into the wheelhouse for the spectacular inaugural race. We also hear more about her imminent major works as she heads to the Norman R Wright & Sons shipyard.
