Blue Eyes Of Summer. Here we go. Did I mention I was a lifeguard in Kihei Maui, just enough years to write a bunch of songs. Summer, Until I Get It Right, Maui Stylinʻ, South Side, Streets Of Kihei. This is one from that time. I guess I was a good enough swimmer to make it to Captain on the South Shore. We suffered a few storms in the 90ʻs where the beaches were absolutely cleaned of sand. Of 21 boats moored off my beach, only 3 survived. We worked together with the Fire Department till around 10pm. exhausted at the fire station till they let us go. Our latest rescue was around 9pm. A surfer stuck out side and cannot come in, yelling help. Half asleep at the station we responded. One our our guys Rowen took his rescue tube, jumped in to the 8-10 ft. shore breaks in the dark just hearing the calls, before we could get lights on him, he was gone. He reached the guy, unleashed his surfboard and brought the guy in. His board made it to the shore first. Rowen dragged the guy out of the water. The rescued got an earful from the Fire Captain. I guess I didnʻt put this in the song, hehehe.
Some days are more like this song. I got the song but not Blue Eyes, I am thinking weʻre even. Iʻm happy with this song, and sheʻs happy. I really like writing this one and now to be playing it, I have another story, time and memory of it. So who knows when the active Dolphins appear like the Hamajang gang on the Daily Pidgin. Glad I got this one out for you. Now I can watch it myself for the coming years. Thanks for your time.
