How to Format SD Cards on a PC

Описание к видео How to Format SD Cards on a PC

In this video, we are demonstrating how to format an SD card on a PC. Formatting SD cards in a computer is something we recommend doing at least once a year when you pull your trail cameras down for the year and store them for next year.

Here's How:

Before you get started, you’ll need to make sure your PC has a SD card slot built in. If you PC does not have a built in SD card reader, you’ll need to purchase a plug-in reader that is compatible (Typically USB or Type C connection).

To get started, you’ll obviously need your PC powered on with Windows operating system running.

Insert SD card into reader
Open Windows File Explore
On the left side of the window, select the desire drive where the SD card is shown
Right click on the SD card and select “FORMAT” in the menu window
If desiring a “quick format” make sure the quick format box is checked. If desiring a long/hard format just uncheck the quick format box
Select “START”
Select OK when “format will erase all data” warning window appears. *Note formatting your SD card will erase any information, files, data, etc on the SD card. If there is any info that is critical you will want to save it else where before formatting.
Once format is completed select OK in window and close the FORMAT application window.
In File Explorer, right click on the SD Card and select “EJECT”
Safely eject SD card from the SD card slot or reader
