So you've had surgery, now what? This video goes over the most common questions patients ask after surgery and this can server as a good guide for what questions to ask your surgeon to prepare for recovery after surgery. Every surgery is different but in general there are good guidelines which apply to all surgeries. Always remember to discuss any plan with your personal physician - this video is not meant as medical advice but rather a guide to what I do for my patients and what you should discuss with your doctor regarding your post operative care (care after surgery).

Enhanced recovery pathways are discussed to speed recovery and minimize pain experienced after surgery. Another term for is is fast track surgery. It is steps taken by your surgeon before, during and after surgery to minimize your pain, minimize your pain and get you back to doing your normal activities faster than traditional/conventional surgery. The type of surgery you have is also important! Minimally invasive techniques greatly aid in this recovery and make a world of difference from conventional open surgery in terms of recovery.
