With its animated monsters, gorgeous artwork, real-time combat, and a rich fantasy setting filled with Huline, Thomgogs, and venom-spitting Dracoids, Lands of Lore is a perfect snapshot of early '90s CRPG excellence. Sure, it wasn’t as innovative as Ultima Underworld, but it had something even rarer: charm, humor, and heart.
