Ghora Tarap is the actual place from which Sultan Jalaluddin Khuwarzam Shah jumped into the Indus River after defeat in battle of the Indus against Genghis Khan.

According to Major Raverty, Sultan Jalaluddin Khuwarzam Shah jumped from a 25 to 30
feet high rock into the river with his horse and at this place, the river is 180 feet deep and 250
yards wide while the river is flowing at a speed of 9 to 10 miles per hour.

Now, if we look at this place in the context of the battle of the Indus River and the battlefield
of Indus, then this place can be guessed.

This place is located nowadays some kilometers away from village Shagai, Nizampur area of District Nowshera Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
